HBU Baseball updates
03/03/10 at 4:47pm

It's easy to get caught up in the basketball season coming to an end and trying to predict how far HBU can go in the GW tourney (all the way!), but don't forget about Husky baseball!

Buller...Buller...

Sorry, had to do it. Nice showing by our 3B Robbie Buller in the Big Boy Classic last weekend; he is currently on a 5-game hitting streak after pinch-hitting the first game.

The season has not started out great for HBU as we currently own a 1-4 record. In the 4 losses, we have given up 7 runs or more and gave up 5 in our sole win against Bryant University. The bats haven't helped much either. We scored only 2 runs in 3 losses and 4 in another loss.

HBU travels to ATX to take on Concordia, then heads to OK to play the Laters and Nebraska to face the Cobbers. Grin

Dang, we NEED to beat Concoria.  They play in a bandbox up there, so that should at least help our bats, and I don't know how much it will really matter for our pitching.  If we can get some decent starts, we should win.  Let's get some momentum going!

Actually, the games are scheduled to be played at Nelson Field, an AISD field off 290 near Reagan HS. That bandbox is long gone and Concordia has a whole new campus in Cedar Park. Their new field is not yet ready, so the games will be at Nelson. And Moon is pissed, since (A) it's a HS field and Concordia played Wednesday at Dell Diamond, and (B) the AISD folks say no BP on the field and there are no cages.

Remember, all Huskies games are on the internet at TSRNSports.com.

What?? Dang, that sucks.  AISD field? Come on now.  And of course we can't get a game at the Dell Diamond...

Dell Diamond? For HBU v Concordia? Seriously?

A HS field is g4y. I understood when we started soccer up again and had to play at Belin Park, but why don't we just play at Husky Field?

I have a cousin that goes to Concordia and he has been updating me on all the new campus developments, but never mentioned anything about a baseball field.

237 and 11 behind SHS. That will definitely change in about a month.

We won both games in the Concordia doubleheader btw. 17 hits in the 2nd game including 5 triples.

Wow, where's the Rice dominance been lately?
